Welcome to the 2nd Medical and Rehabilitation Robotics Workshop 2012 (MRR2012)!
[NOTE] Please refer to MRR2012 official website for latest updates (http://www.rehabrobot.net/)
We are delighted to announce the 2nd Medical and Rehabilitation Robotics Workshop 2012. The workshop was first initiated by Dr. Hanafiah Yussof in 2011. This event is proudly organized by the Center for Humanoid Robots and Bio-Sensing (HuRoBs), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam.
This workshop shall highlight the latest results and findings from the research and experiments under the HuRoBs’s rehabilitation cluster project entitled “Development of Robot-Based Intervention Platform and Training Tools for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)”, a project funded by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia under the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS). The workshop intends to focus on the technical and clinical evaluation on the experimental results of humanoid robot intervention with Autism children, hence promote interaction between researchers, clinicians, therapists and NGOs. The invited speakers are from National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM), HuRoBs, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine, UiTM. Keynote speakers from engineering and medical faculties from other universities shall also be sharing their latest findings related to the medical and rehabilitation robotics during the 2-days workshop.
The event is aimed to bring together researchers, academicians, scientists, students, engineers and practitioners from various leading research labs and clinics in Malaysia to participate and present their latest findings, ideas, developments and applications in the field of rehabilitation robotics; especially related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
We would like to invite all interested participants including academicians, researchers, parents, therapists, students, government and private agencies and societies to join this workshop. The conference also included patient and caregiver testimonials as well as sessions about standardization of technology, technology transfer, and assessment tools.
